First conversation

It seems like there is a lot going on and many changes coming.  Eventually, HCC will have a permanent Vice President of Academic Affairs and a permanent Director for ITDE.  In the meantime, we continue to plug along and find some interesting ideas for instructors.  

• At the beginning of the semester, there was an excellent speaker at Professional Learning who talked about Brain Compatible classrooms (Janet N. Zadina). 
• In ITDE, we discovered Starlink Professional Learning and all of the excellent topics for Professional Development they have available.  There is now a course in ANGEL for all employees of HCC called Professional Development @ HCC and it has links and activities to the Starlink content.  One of the topics is Teaching to the Whole Brain and goes hand-in-hand with Dr. Zadina's presentation. 
• While researching other things, several of us have run across some other cool tools that were new to us.  They include Wordle, Qwiki and Academic Earth.  All very cool.
